See and Learn

The new See and Learn programmes offer easy-to-use resources to support evidence-based activities to promote early language and reading, speech, numeracy and memory development.

The first steps in See and Learn Language and Reading and See and Learn Speech are now available in UK and US English editions. Further steps in these programmes are under development for publication later in 2011 and in 2012, as are the first steps in See and Learn Numbers and See and Learn Memory.

See and Learn Language and Reading

See and Learn Language and Reading supports learning to talk and read, from learning first words to reading and using short sentences. The programme emphasises the visual presentation of language through reading.

See and Learn Speech

See and Learn Speech aims to improve speech discrimination skills and develop clearer speech production. It offers a structured, step-by-step program designed specifically for young children with Down syndrome. The first two steps are now available in UK and US English readymade printed editions.

See and Learn Memory

See and Learn Memory offers activities designed to improve key aspects of short-term and working memory that are known to be an area of difficulty for children with Down syndrome.

See and Learn Memory is under development and will be available later in 2011.

See and Learn Numbers

See and Learn Numbers offers activities to teach early maths concepts, counting and key number skills.
