Teaching resources
"Keep doing [See and Learn resources] - they have given me a real hope for my daughter's ability to
speak and read in the future. You have been the best resource I have ever discovered" (Parent)
Our growing range of teaching resources provide step-by-step guidance
and resources to support learning for children with Down syndrome. Our
new See and Learn programmes offer support for early language
and reading, speech, number and memory development.
Our teaching resources make it easy for parents and professionals to
engage children in activities designed to support specific aspects of
development in effective ways. Our resources are based on evidence about
the learning needs of children with Down syndrome and developed by
professionals with extensive practical experience.
See and Learn
Our new See and Learn programmes
offer activities designed to promote the development of language,
reading, speech, memory and number skills.
The first steps in See
and Learn Language and Reading and See and Learn Speech
are now available in UK and US English editions. Further steps in these
programmes are under development for publication later in 2011 and in
2012, as are the first steps in See and Learn Numbers and
See and Learn Memory.
Developmental checklists
Our developmental checklists are designed to record the progress of
children with Down syndrome in vocabulary, speech sounds, communication
and play, and sentences and grammar.
