Down Syndrome Issues and Information

Down Syndrome Issues and Information is a unique range of practical and informative books offering comprehensive information about development, education and adult living for people with Down syndrome.

Education series

The education series covers early intervention, education and development for children with Down syndrome from birth to late teenage years.

Topics covered include speech and language, reading and literacy, number and mathematics, social skills and behaviour, successful inclusion and curriculum adaptation.

Adult series

The adult series covers the issues relevant to the quality of life for adults with Down syndrome.

Topics in the adult series include lifelong learning, social skills, employment, independent living and relationships.

Other books

We also publish a guide to using Numicon® maths teaching resources with children with Down syndrome. The additional activities presented in the book break tasks into smaller steps or adapt activities to take account of the learning style of children with Down syndrome.

Future plans

We are currently reviewing our future book publishing plans. We will be updating the Down Syndrome Issues and Information series from 2012.
